Shaving Cream Alternatives – That We Actually Prefer!

Over the years I’ve found so many alternatives to shaving cream, that I’ve actually ended up preferring them, I thought I’d share my favourites with you too! I’ve found these options will leave your skin just as smooth, if not more so, than regular shaving cream!

Honey (Raw): I’m sure you already know that skin and honey go hand in hand. It’s great for moisturising your face, and it also does the same for your legs. You may be worried that the honey is too thick and gloopy, but with a little water, it rinses right off.

Coconut oil: If you are prone to razor burn, coconut oil will really help you. It has anti fungal and antibacterial properties that prevent razor burn from even occurring, it also works as a moisturiser so your legs won’t dry out.

Hair Conditioner: You may not have shaving cream in the shower already, but chances are you do have hair conditioner. This is one of the cheapest and most hydrating ways to shave. Don’t waste your high end conditioner, of course, but pick up a cheap bottle to use on your legs. Using conditioner to shave leaves your legs silky smooth..

Body lotion: The same as hair conditioner, body lotion will leave your legs feeling like satin. The steam from the shower opens up your pores, so applying lotion in the shower helps the formula penetrate deeper into your skin.

Baby oil: Using baby oil as shaving cream actually reduces the chances of nicking your legs. One, it’s clear, so you can see where you’re shaving and two, the oil helps the razor to glide across the skin. Although you do have to be very careful not to slip in the shower, because it’s so slippery!
